Creation Sings His Praise

Hello from South Africa! All 16 of us have safely made it to this beautiful country. After a very long travel day of 25 hours, we were ready to sleep upon arriving to our stay in Pilanesburg. Praise the Lord that our travel went very smoothly. I still think it is so cool how fast we can travel across the world!

Our first two days in Africa have been spent getting used to the time change by resting at a hotel and going on a safari! What an adventure it was to drive around the game reserve and see all sorts of animals. Cheetahs, lions, elephants! Here are a few photos.

“Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it!” Psalms 96

Every time I see the beautiful sceneries of a new place in the world, I am always completely blown away by how the Lord declares His glory all over the Earth. When I look at a yellow bird with extremely detailed stripes on his feathers, or a large zebra majestically running through a field, I give praise to the Creator who created everything we see. I believe we see these beautiful animals and sights and can so clearly see the glory of God. We look at all the intricate details of the things we can see with our eyes. We see the birds fly so freely. We watch flowers bloom in due season. It’s so clear that God created these things because they are so beautiful. They declare His praise.

“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.” Job 12:7-10

The Word is clear in saying that God is in control of every aspect of His creation. However, we sometimes seem to be blinded to God’s glory, majesty, and beauty in our own day to day life. The routines and responsibilities of our day to day lives have caused us the inability to be still before Him. Difficult circumstances and the sin that so easily entangles seem to overpower and block out the majesty of who He is. At least, that’s what we are putting most of our attention towards. As believers, we must trust that God is who He says He is, both in creating the beautiful scenery in Africa and in creating us exactly who we are to be an instrument of His praise.

Today we saw a sign that read “quo vadis” meaning “where are you going” in Latin. For this time, 16 have gone to South Africa following where the Lord has called us for this season. But, where has God given you your specific assignment for His glory? Once we understand that God has created us to declare His praise, we must surrender our lives for the sole purpose of lifting His name to our families, in our workplaces, and all over the world!

The bible says in Psalm 139 that “we are fearfully and wonderfully made.” Do you believe that today? What steps can you take to be still before God and accept Him as Creator, both in your everyday life and in the places across the world?

Tomorrow we fly to George and then drive to Knysna where we will be reunited with Chris and Rebecca Wilkins! Thank you for your prayers and for being apart of our team by praying wherever you are today. We thank God for everything He has done in our time here so far and what He has in store for the days to come. Continue to pray for this team! God bless you!

In Christ,

Amelia Wolfe
