Days In Khayelitsha

Our days in Khayelitsha were filled with paint brushes and repair tools. We painted walls, ceilings, doors and windows. We repaired minor wall imperfections, doors, and began replacing cabinets. But our most meaningful and heartfelt impact was with the children that returned from school each afternoon.

Using salvation bracelets, a Bible story cloth, soccer balls, and crafts, we spent time with the children, sharing God’s love and hope. We enjoyed hearing the children sing songs of the faith they had prepared for us, and we were blessed with a beautiful rendition of Blessed Assurance from one of the Home From Home social workers.

On Friday afternoon we celebrated our time there by hosting a pizza party for the children. Their laughter, hearty appetites, and the joy on their faces made our days there even sweeter.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words so these photos should tell the story of our hearts from our days here.

See you soon!
